Congratulations are in order for Selena Gomez! as she receives a gold record to commemorate RIAA certified sales of more than 500,000 copies of the album Kiss And Tell and her single Naturally went Platinum with over 1,000,000 downloads. Selena and her bandmates “The Scene” received their plaques at Selena’s 18th birthday BBQ bash.Congrats again to Selena, this is very cool and exciting!

I added photos of Selena @ Lopez Tonight on July 26. I also added photos from a new WOWP Episode: Uncle Ernesto, and to top it all I added photos of Selena Gomez Shopping at the Westfield Mall with her family on July 27 in the morning (yesterday).

“Uncle Ernesto” – Justin, Alex and Max promise a magic-free evening so Theresa can invite her brother Ernesto (who does not know about the Russo’s magical powers) for a birthday dinner. The promise is broken as soon as Alex spots magical birthday presents from Uncle Kelbo, in a new episode of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” premiering FRIDAY, AUGUST 27 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Guest Starring is Wilmer Valderrama (“Handy Manny”) as Uncle Ernesto.

Hey guys, by now I’m sure most of you know that my voice is gone and that I had to cancel some of my upcoming shows. After my 2 week promo tour with Joey I started to feel pain in my throat from talking too much. As soon as I came home I went to see my doctor and he said that I had damaged my vocal chords and that I had acid reflex (probably from pickles). He put me on medication and wanted to see me in a few days. When I went back my voice had gotten much worse. He then told me that I had to cancel my shows and be on vocal rest for a week. I felt so horrible that I couldn’t perform. I begged the doctor to give me more medication to last me through these shows, he said if I went I could lose my voice completely and have permanent damage. I had to give up and agree to not go but I WILL make it up. We are doing the best we can to reschedule all of the shows and I will do a 2 hour meet and greet in each city that I missed when I come back into town. We are also trying to see who was planning on coming to the shows so we can give you all tickets to the rescheduled shows. I am SO sorry about all of this and really hope I can see you all when I’m better.

The show in Columbus, OH has already been rescheduled for November 6th.

The shows that have been cancelled are:

Delaware State Fair 7/28/10
Lilith Fair Tour in Holmdel, NJ 7/31 and Hartford, CT 8/01

Being business-minded so young is more about being passionate with the things that you love. I mean, I’ve had people tell me that I would never have my own show that I wasn’t talented or strong enough.

And I’ve had a bunch of people criticize my music and my personal style and everything. I think it’s all about finding something you’re genuinely passionate about that you would never let anything get in the way of. That is a big part of how I became who I am because I love everything that I do. So if you have that passion it will give you the drive that you need to become unstoppable.

I’m very proud of my background and where I come from. When I was younger I thought I had to have blue eyes and blonde hair and be white to success, I know how some girls feel inside. I know they think if they want to be an actress or a singer they have to have those qualities. For me, I love not having blonde hair or blue eyes to prove that we all don’t have to look that way.

In the entire process of my album, A Year Without Rain, I wanted to be much more involved than I had been in the past. I knew exactly where I wanted to go with this album. Because my first one was more of a learning experience, the album artwork is a little older, it’s a little fun and kind of dreamy and fantasy like.

It’s got that dance feel to it and I hope everyone can listen to it. The reason I called it A Day Without Rain is because one of my favorite songs on the album is A Year Without Rain. It’s basically has a sweet melody tune to it and it’s basically a song saying you cant live without that person. A day without you is like a year without rain.

For the album, Kevin Rudolf gave me my first single, “Round and Round.” I was excited that he and Fefe Dobson gave me that song. Chelsea Dab who did ‘If I Were A Boy’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ with Beyonce and Fergie gave me ‘A Year Without Rain.’ Katy Perry also gave me a song called ‘Rock God’ which has that really cool funky beat. I mixed it with my dancing style and every other artist that I’ve worked with were people that I have worked with before.

I’ve really had the chance to grow up more and I’ve written more of my stuff and I was fortunate to have all those people send me their songs so I think this is much more involved in the sense that I knew what the vision I wanted to be was and the lyrics had to mean something a little more. It was just more of a mature way to portray what I wanted to say while still maintaining youthfulness.

Columbus – The Selena Gomez & The Scene show at the Ohio State Fair has been rescheduled for Nov. 6, 2010.

Actress/Singer Selena Gomez has been forced to cancel three concert dates and reschedule one scheduled over the next week due to strained vocal chords. Gomez’s physician has ordered her to vocal rest and no traveling on airplanes for the next week.

All tickets will be honored at the Nov. 6 show. In addition, ticket holders can still use their concert ticket for one free admission to the Ohio State Fair on any day. For those who are unable to attend the Nov. 6 show, tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase.
